Date of birth: 24.06.74 Place: Sofia, Bulgaria In 1995 I got my
first bike, a CZ 180. It was what they used to call the “pride of
Czechoslovakia” as there weren’t many other brands on the market. And my next one
too was a Russian IZ-350 from the old communist days. Japanese bikes started
coming in after the fall of the Berlin wall and when I got my first Kawasaki LTD
400 I really felt like I was taking off. It`s just that the bikes from the old
days in our part of the World were designed to be no more than just vehicles
while the Japs do things for sheer fun. In 2003 I got myself a 1999 Suzuki GSX
600 F, which is a mid-range tourer with a very sporting spirit indeed. I sold
that only recently and got myself a truly sound piece of hardware called
the 2002 V-twin Suzuki superbike, the TL 1000R. Next to bikes - and my family off
course - I love photography. Dad got me a camera in 1986 and I remember it was a
fixed focus Fuji. I went digital 7 years ago with a Canon Powershot A-20. I’ve
also had a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ20, although I didn’t like that one very much.
DSLR photography became known to me via the 6 mp Nikon D50 complete with Sigma
AF 70-300 mm 4-5.6 APO DG and a Sigma AF 15mm 2.8 Diagonal Fisheye lenses. The
Nikkor AF-S 18-55 3.5-5.6 comes with the kit and needs no attention at all and
then, off course I have my 35 mm SLR backup camera, the Nikon F-55. In the fall
of 2007 the place of the legendary D50 has been taken by the much more
sophisticated D80, a 10 mpx middleweight camera, along with a new 18-70mm
f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED Nikkor Lens. Cute, isn`t it? Every time I travel with my bike I always have my cameras with me, just in case I want to take pictures of bikers events, interesting people, landscapes or just moments, that have to be captured. If anyone has
the same hobbies and interests as mine don’t spare me much time - E-mail me!!
I’ll be only too happy to swap some experience...
